At the age of nineteen, and hailing from Dallas, Texas, country singer – songwriter Ashliegh Lisset is an independent artist that seems to be making all the right moves.
Since the age of twelve, Ashliegh has had aspirations of becoming a professional recording and performing artist. However, it was a tragic life experience that lead her to music. At the age of eleven, she received the most devastating news a young girl could receive. Her father, an American Soldier, lost his life in combat while serving a second tour for Operation Iraqi Freedom.
It was dealing with this tragic loss that she found comfort in music. Quickly realizing life was too short not to pursue her dream. When asked about her father, Ashliegh replies, “My dad was a passionate soldier, and he died doing something he believed in. In a sense… that’s how I feel about my music.”
Ashliegh’s passion, hard work, and determination is beginning to pay off. After discovering Ashliegh’s music, K99.1 FM invited her to open for Sony recording artist, Jerrod Niemann at their “Unplugged Concert” in Dayton, Ohio. It’s been Ashliegh’s dream since the beginning of her career to open for a national icon act. When asked about the experience she said, “Opening for Jerrod was exciting and I feel like I reached a milestone in my career. I dream of the day that I can do it all over again!”
Her dream gig is to one day perform with her idol, Carrie Underwood and to perform at The Grand Ole Opry. Ashliegh continues to work hard at making her dream come true.
With every passing day, Ashliegh moves closer to that dream which will soon be her reality.
